Twodue
Two Due Tips
Following are some suggestions that may make Two Due more useful for you.
- Launch at Startup
You may want to set Two Due to automatically launch as part of your normal login or startup sequence. Since Two Due will automatically open the last file you used, you can get right to work on your To Do list as soon as you sit down to work.
- Multiple Uses
Consider using Two Due for more than a personal To Do List.
- Track Change Requests
I use Two Due to keep track of change requests for Two Due! When a change is completed, I use the Sequence field to track the version number that incorporated the change. I then sort my list by Status and Sequence (descending). This way the open changes sort to the top of the list, and the latest completed changes follow.
- Meeting Agendas and Minutes
Another way in which I use Two Due is to keep track of meeting agendas for a regular meeting I host at work. We have many agenda items that occur on a regular basis, so the recurring features make it easy to schedule these. I use the Due Date for the date of the meeting, the Sequence field to keep track of different sections of the meeting, and Priority to track the importance or urgency of each item. I also use the Start Time, Duration and Default Start Time fields, along with the "Lists / Schedule Start Times" menu item, to schedule planned start times for each agenda item. I can keep track of Outcomes of an agenda item, and archive closed items to a separate file, which then become my meeting minutes. I publish both files to the Web using Web templates, so that other meeting participants can easily access the agendas for upcoming meetings and minutes from past meetings.
- Use Multiple Files
Two Due will remember all previously accessed files, and make them available on the File / Open Known menu. What's more, Two Due will remember the View settings you chose for each file. All you have to do is select a file from the Open Known menu, and the file will open with your desired selection and sort criteria. This makes it easy to maintain different lists for different purposes, and easily switch back and forth between them.
- Group with Categories
Assign categories and even sub-categories to your to do items to place them into meaningful groupings. You can then use the Tree Tab to focus on one or more particular categories at a time.
