Views Prefs Tab
This tab is available within the Preferences Window, which can be called up from the iWisdom Preferences menu (on the Mac) or from the Tools Options menu (on any platform).
This tab allows the user to change a number of fields related to the current list of wisdom items. These values will be saved, and restored whenever this file is re-opened.
The following controls are provided on this screen.
- View Name
- This is the name of the currently displayed view. You may type another name in here to change the name of the current view. The name(s) you type here will become the same name(s) you will see displayed on the View menu, to allow you to dynamically change views from the List Tab. You may also select another View from this field, using the drop-down menu feature. This has the same effect as selecting a different View from the View menu. The Sort values selected below will then be associated with the named View, and may be changed at any time by selecting a different named View, either from the View menu, or from this field.
- +
- This button, to the right of the View Name, will create a new View and add it to the end of the list. The new view will appear with a default name, which you may then change.
- -
- This button, farther to the right of the View Name, will delete the currently displayed View. The currently open wisdom list will then be associated with a different View.
- Sort Field 1 - 4
- You may specify as many as four sort fields. You may sort by any combination of the following fields: Category, Title, Author, Source Type, Source, Year, Rating. Simply select the desired fields from the drop-down menus provided. By pressing the appropriate radio button to the right of each field, you may choose to have your list sorted in ascending or descending sequence.
When you are done specifying your View criteria, you would normally click on the List Tab to see the results of your changes.
The View options last set for a file will be saved in association with the name of the file, so that they can be restored when a file is selected from the File / Open Recent menu, or when the most recent file is automatically opened the next time the program is launched (see the File section for more information).
