Export Window
This window allows the user to export/publish all or part of her wisdom collection in an alternate format.
This window offers two separate tabs, one for the Export Function and one for the Publish function.
Export
The following controls are provided on this screen.
- Field Scope
- Select one of the radio buttons to indicate whether you want to export All Fields in a data format, or a formatted Wisdom List. Note that the available Formats listed below will vary depending on your choice here.
- Item Scope
- Select one of the radio buttons to indicate whether you only want to export a single item (the one currently selected), all the items assigned a specific category, or your entire wisdom collection.
- Format

Select one of the available formats from the drop-down menu. If you selected the All Fields Field Scope above, then you may choose from one of the following formats.
- Tab Delimited Text
- Text Block -- The format used by iWisdom for the Transfer/Accept options.
- XML -- Export to the iWisdom format.
- HTML
- Markdown
- OPML
- Textile Syntax 1
- Textile Syntax 2
- Destination

Select one of the following destinations for your export.
- File -- You will be allowed to select an output folder and file name
- Clipboard -- You may paste the export results into another application
- Export...
- Pressing this button will allow you to complete the Export function.
Publish
This tab allows you to publish your Wisdom collection in HTML format.
- Themes...
- Pressing this button will allow you to specify a folder that contains the various themes you wish to use for Web publishing of your collection. The default location for your themes is in your application folder, and this location may be used so long as you are content to use the stock themes supplied with iWisdom. If you generate your own custom themes, then you would normally want to move your themes folder to a more stable location, one that will not be overwritten each time you install a new version of the software.
- Theme
- Select a theme from the drop-down list. These correspond to the folders available in the themes location specified above. Note that iWisdom comes with the following two themes pre-installed.

- portablewisdom1
- This is the theme used to generate the wisdom collection for the PortableWisdom.org Web site.
- portablewisdom2
- This is a theme that can be used to generate a stand-alone collection of wisdom (not integrated into the rest of the PortableWisdom.org Web site).
- Apply
- Pressing this button will apply your selected theme to your wisdom collection's HTML representation.
- Publish
- Pressing this button will execute a script of XSL transformations. Note that it may take several seconds for the publication process to be completed.
